Despite its name, The Island Golf Club is situated on an isthmus north of Dublin. Surrounded by the Irish Sea, a marshy estuary, and a large bay, the course offers a secluded, prehistoric atmosphere with steep coastal dunes reminiscent of County Donegal. Originally laid out in the 1890s and updated in 2020 by Tom Mackenzie and Martin Ebert, the course features new holes like the eighth and ninth, complementing its classic design. The Island’s second nine is particularly renowned, delivering a thrilling links experience with strategic elevation changes and dramatic sand barrens.
